• Formed the Free Religious Fellowship with her husband (Rev. Lewis McGee), an interracial group in South Chicago that boasted a choir, a women’s group, and various study groups
• Elected to the continental board of the Joint Alliance of Unitarian Women & Association of Universalist Women in 1960
• Brought together the two groups that merged in 1961 to become the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation
• Received the Clara Barton Sisterhood award in 1994 for her significant contributions to UU women’s groups
