All Souls Church Black Members History Project Creator interview (Watch the Video)
This Sister Souurce Conversation took place on September 29, 2022 between Rev. Dr. Qiyamah Rahman and Barbara Corprew, creator of the All Souls Church Black Members History Project website. The website is part of All Souls’ bicentennial (200th) anniversary celebrations and provides a platform for sharing memories about Black church members from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. In this interview, Ms. Corprew explains her process of gathering information, photographs, and documentation in preparation for the project. She also reveals some of the caveats and challenges along the way. Anyone interested in doing historical congregational research, especially from a Black perspective, will benefit from these two researchers whose excitement about their work is evident in the conversation.
